Tis the season!!!

I know everyone is super crazy this week, how come it's never picture perfect like the good ol' times like in the 1950's?  I think they were putting on a show as well....too many presents to buy/make/re-gift, then wrap it so nicely with festive paper, watch out for paper cuts...those buggers can hurt sometimes more than hitting your finger with a chasing hammer!!!!  And don't forget the bow!!!!   Ohh crap did you remember a present for your Uncle Bob???  Back to the store or studio or closet for one more gift!!!  Now onto the eggnog, fudge, sugar cookies, cheese ball, pumpkin pie, mash potatoes, ham, cracker salad, cranberry salad, jell-o salad, Waldorf salad...damn how many salads do we need!!!!  Now make sure the house is clean the sheets are washed and the decorations are all in place....Oh no did I remember postage on those last few online orders for the business....where the hell is the bourbon!!! I feel your pain, stop by the studio and vent your xmas bah humbugness with me, I'm here Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 11am-2pm  (1416 O Street Upper level).....

Okay....Today I had an interview with LAC (Lincoln Arts Council) since I'm the spot light artist for December (yeah)!!! During my interview Emily (my interviewer) and I spoke about that she studied dance and how much she could relate to my art even though it's a different got me thinking about all the other arts and mediums that influence me....The biggest medium is music, so I'm posting two videos....Both are Trent Reznor and the other has David Bowie....both are huge influences in my life....I am so jealous of musician since their passion just flows for all to see, my passion is hidden behind a workbench and you don't get to see the process and passion that flow throw each piece.....I love seeing someones passion of their art and in their element...see that passion drip of their hair and pass into the world laid out....I am in so much envy of the performance world....ahhhhh....well I hope you enjoy.....

My first memories of growing up always involved the muppets!  I grew a great bond not only to the fury, eccentric, felt creatures that goo-fully invaded my living room every afternoon but by the master behind it all, Jim Henson.  I've always been at ahhh with not only the creation of his art but how he did it, the process.

Tim Burton was introduced to my by Beetlejuice and lead to much of my complete and utter ahhhness in the world of art. I love the fact that you not only see his movies but feel them.  Most of the main characters are strange and weird but I always related to them and wanted to be them.  Burton alway has this mechanical side to his work which draws me in more.  Gadgets and bizarreness lead to my infatuation of how Burton created this world he presented to us in every film or short.

Now onto me, I try to bring all my passions of others, life and experience into my work, this is me and I'm Casey Sheppard Designs, welcome, I hope you enjoy my crazy, bizarre, strange and fun world and become involved!
